Ms. Maithili Bhuptani is a Sport & Exercise Psychologist in the Sports Medicine Department of Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.

Ms. Bhuptani has topped her B.A in Psychology Majors from Jai Hind College, in Mumbai and completed her Masters in Sport & Exercise Psychology from the best ranked university for sport in the world, Loughborough University, in UK.

Being a State-level Basketball player along with a Blue Belt in Judo, Ms. Bhuptani brings to the table her deep and practical understanding of sports and psychology. She strongly believes that a holistic development of an athlete is crucial for progression and has contributed to promoting mental health and awareness in our country at multiple levels.

Her expertise lies in developing comprehensive psychological skills programs for athletes, with the aim of enhancing on field performance and maintaining optimum mental health. Some of her key focus areas encompass coping with performance fears, mentally preparing for competitions, returning to sport after injuries, attaining the correct zone of arousal, etc. She follows a multidisciplinary approach integrating individual sessions with parent consultations, support-staff discussions and coach consultations to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Ms. Bhuptani’s interest in the field strengthened over the years, as she assisted Parkinson’s patients in physiotherapy sessions using a cognitive-behavioural therapy approach and worked on conducting psychometric assessments for the Junior Indian Cricket Team. In the past four years, she has closely worked with several National and International athletes across categories such as Boxing, Weightlifting, Badminton and Athletics. She regularly contributes to websites such as BelievePerform which is UK’s leading Sport Psychology platform and BaySide Sports.
