Dr. Kersi Chavda is a Consultant in the Psychiatry department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
After completing MBBS, Dr. Chavda pursued Diploma in Psychological Medicine at University of Mumbai.
Dr. Chavda has 34 years of vast experience in the field of Psychiatry. Apart from his association with our hospital, he is also a Consultant Psychiatrist at P. D. Hinduja National Hospital at Mahim & Khar
Dr. Chavda is the ex-president of the Bombay Psychiatrist Society. He was the Chairperson, Taskforce on School Psychiatry & Counselling, India Psychiatric Society. He is currently a member of the Indian Psychiatry Society dealing with ethical issues between doctor and patient, and is also on the taskforce of the Indian Paediatric Society dealing with developmental difficulties in children.
Additionally, he was on the academic panel of the National Institute of Mentally Handicapped. He was a founding member of the “Prafulta”, one of the biggest NGO dealing with mental health in Mumbai. Currently, Dr. Chavda is on the panel of “Bombay Trust”, a BMC-Private co-operative effort dealing with developing mental health policies for the city. He is associated with a panel to develop concessions for kids with specific learning disorders in Maharashtra.
Dr. Chavda is a fellow of the Indian Psychiatry Society, the Indian Association of Private Psychiatry, and a fellow of the American Psychiatry Association. He is also associated with a number of schools, universities, colleges, and other institutes dealing with special needs in children.
