Dr. Gauresh Palekar is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with the Orthopaedic department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
An alumni of Mumbai University, Dr. Gauresh Palekar graduated from Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital in 1996 with distinction in Anatomy, Microbiology and Pharmacology. He successfully completed D. Ortho from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai in 1999 securing 1st rank, following which he trained at the T N Medical College and Nair Hospital, Mumbai University in MS (Orthopaedics), 2001 and qualified through the National Board examination, 2001 earning a DNB (Orthopaedics). He is also a fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Palekar is an experienced tertiary care health service provider and has rich clinical experience working with Spine, Arthroplasty, and Trauma units. He has undergone advanced training in management of Pelvis and acetabulum fractures and Hip Arthroplasty. As a fellow in Arthroplasty, John Hopkins Orthopaedic at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Maryland, USA he trained in joint replacement and core decompression surgery for osteonecrosis and as a researcher worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA on Posterior stabilised (PS) total knee replacement, Minimal invasive Total Knee Replacement, Resurfacing hip, Hip reconstruction and Cemented total hip replacement.
Dr. Palekar continues to be an active researcher with three active research grants. He has authored four international publications, four conference papers and two book chapters.
