Dr. Deepak Bhatia is a Consultant with the Orthopaedics department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr Deepak Bhatia is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with additional subspecialty training in shoulder, elbow and wrist surgery. He completed his orthopaedic surgical training at the prestigious King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. He is fellowship trained in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and upper limb at leading international institutes in Belgium, South Africa, and Australia. His clinical practice is focussed on sports injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, and he also treats athletic injuries of the Hip and groin.

Dr Bhatia is actively involved in research and has more than 80 international publications in leading scientific journals. He is a committee member of the Elbow, Wrist, and Hand committee of ISAKOS. He has served as a Co-Editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Shoulder Surgery (2006 to 2016), and is a founding member and past Secretary of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of India. He has lectured and performed live surgeries at national and international shoulder conferences. Dr Deepak Bhatia has developed several original surgical techniques for treating various shoulder and elbow problems. These techniques have been published in some of the best international journals, and are currently used by shoulder and elbow surgeons around the world.

Dr Deepak Bhatia work is internationally acclaimed, and he has been awarded the Gary G. Poehling Award 2017 (ISAKOS, Shanghai, China) for pioneering research in elbow endoscopy. He has also won the ISAKOS Young Investigator Research Grant Award in 2016 (Adelaide Australia) and ISAKOS Young Investigator Research Mentorship Award in 2015 (Lyon, France).
