Visiting Fellow
Dr. Ujwal Bhure is Addl. Director and Head at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, India.
Dr. Ujwal Bhure graduated from T. N. Medical College, B.Y.L Nair Hospital, Mumbai in 1994 and continued towards earning an MD and then subsequently he completed DNB (Nuclear medicine) from Jaslok Hospital and Medical Centre, Mumbai. Following which he did one year dedicated clinical fellowship in PET/CT imaging from pioneering PET/CT centre in the world, University Hospital Zurich (USZ), Switzerland [2005-06], which was one of the first centres in the world to install clinical PET/CT scanner. He is trained in FDG and Non FDG PET/CT Scans as a visiting fellow at the S. Orsola-Malphigi Hospital, Bologna, Italy; SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and Hybrid Cardiac Imaging at University Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland; PET/CT with various tracers, conventional nuclear medicine, SPECT/CT, at Cantonal Hospital Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland. He is a member of the clinical research team at Cantonal Hospital Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland and continues working with them on various topics in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
He has co-authored several research articles and presented his work at many national and international conferences. He has various original research papers in international indexed medical journals. He has authored chapters in two text-books as well. His core areas of interest are oncology & neurology PET/CT; and also Bone SPECT/CT, wherein he continues to be part of Swiss clinical research group. His special interest also includes cardiac imaging.
Outside the clinical work, he is an avid photographer and pursues his hobby with lot of passion.
