Hepatology

Dr Amrit Gopan has completed his under-graduation from the prestigious Seth G.S Medical College and K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai and his M.D in Pediatrics from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and Sion Hospital, Mumbai. He was the University Gold medalist (M.U.H.S) with 3 gold medals during M.D Pediatrics residency. He has completed his D.M in Pediatric Gastroenterology from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (S.G.P.G.I), Lucknow, during which time he has managed a multitude of pediatric and adolescent patients with gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic disorders. He has also presented many papers in national and international conferences, with the highlights being the best paper award in United European Gastroenterology Week 2020 and the Gastroenterology plenary paper award by ISPGHAN in 2020. He has also completed a short-term training in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology from Dr Rela Institute and Medical Center, Chennai, which comprised the care of pre and post liver transplant pediatric and adolescent patients. He has 13 National and International Conference Presentations, 2 invited talks in National Conferences, 15 peer-reviewed papers in indexed journals including 1 National Guidelines, 1 review article, 2 book chapters, 3 scientific awards (2 national, 1 international) and 3 educational grants. His book chapter on “Approach to Abdominal Pain in children” is published in the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Protocols on Common Pediatric Disorders- Presidential Action Plan 2020. He is highly experienced and proficient in all pediatric diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He has a special interest in Metabolic Liver diseases, especially Wilson disease, neonatal and infantile cholestasis, childhood liver tumors, young onset chronic Pancreatitis, chronic diarrheal diseases including Celiac disease and pediatric Inflammatory bowel disease. He is a life member of Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Liver Transplant Society of India and Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India. He has joined us from Seth G.S Medical College where he was working as Assistant Professor in Gastroenterology and Clinical Lead- Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
