Dr. Chetan Bhatt is Head of Department and Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
He is a prominent Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist practising in Mumbai since several years. In addition to the MBBS degree, he holds an MD in General Medicine and a DNB in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Chetan Bhatt has won numerous scholarships notably the Dr. A.J. Kohiyar prize from Research Society (J.J. group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College) and the Glaxo Merit Scholarship for being the first student opting to specialize in Internal Medicine after graduation.
He has vast teaching experience and has developed an innovative and novel concept of extensive medical teaching for under-graduate and post-graduate students over three decades. He also has experience of many years in various diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures.
He has special interest in Motility disorder and “Inflammatory Bowel Diseases” (IBD) and has started patient’s education group to discuss IBD understandings for the patient. He has written patient information booklet on IBD – “Understanding IBD for patients and their relatives” and has started IBD website www.ibdmumbaiclub.com.
Dr. Chetan Bhatt has several publications and presentations to his credit in the area of Gastroenterology and has authored chapters in API textbook of Medicine (7th & 8th Edition) on Disease of Peritoneum, Liver in Systemic Disease and Alcoholic Liver Disease.
Dr. Chetan Bhatt is Chairperson of IBS Task Force of Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He is a core committee member of IBD Research group and Task Force of Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of India. He has been Organizing Committee member of International Neuro-Gastro Intestinal Motility Disorder and Indian Society of Gastroenterology Conference 2013-14. He has been faculty member of International Inflammatory Bowel Disease Conference, National Conference of IBD and National Conference in Gastroenterology over the past several years.
