Every year, tens of thousands of patients in India are diagnosed with kidney, prostate, bladder, testes and penis cancers. Urologic oncology is a subspecialty which deals with patients suffering from these cancers. This department is equipped to handle any type of urologic malignancy. We have a well-rounded department for multi-modality consultations in each individual case, involving Urologist, Medical Oncologist and Radiation Specialist under one roof. Following services are available; which outstands this department from other hospitals in and around Mumbai region as well as India

  • Robotic surgery for prostate, renal and bladder cancers
  • Advanced renal cancer surgery like Robotic partial nephrectomy ( removal of large complex kidney tumours while sparing the kidney )
  • Advanced bladder cancer surgery like cystectomy with urinary diversion- ileal conduit or neobladder
  • Penile and testicular cancer surgery
  • Flexible cystoscopy (day care procedure) to facilitate easy removal of stents, diagnosis and follow up for bladder cancer patients
  • Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) Cystoscopy to diagnose bladder cancers in early stage
  • LASER surgery for resecting bladder cancers in patients on blood thinner medications
  • Transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy to diagnose prostate cancers
  • Highly sophisticated imaging services for evaluating cancer of prostate (multiparametric MRI), kidney (CT angiography) (supported by the Radiology department)
  • Multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach in managing urological cancers- all complex urologic cancer cases are discussed with allied specialties such as radiation oncology, medical oncology, pathology and radiology departments. This ensures a collaborative decision and facilitates customized approach towards cancer treatment.
