Dr. Jyoti Shinde is a Lactation Counsellor in the Department of Paediatrics at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Jyoti Shinde completed her Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics from All India Institute of Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation, Mumbai in 1996 and became a certified Mother Support Counsellor by BPNI Maharashtra in Dec 2003. She successfully completed her IBLCE (International Board Lactation Consultant Exam) in 2009 and became a certified IYCN (Infant & Young Child Nutrition) Level 1 Trainer in 2006. She has been a Lead Trainer since 2008. She is also a Certified BFHI (Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative) Assessor since 2009 and was honoured with Doctorate in Food and Nutrition with specialization in Lactation Management by Indian Virtual University for Peace and Education in 2016.
Dr. Shinde has vast experience as a lactation counsellor working with many prestigious hospitals across the city and has also worked with BPNI (Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India) Maharashtra as Senior IYCN (Infant and Young Child Nutrition) trainer. She has more than 5000 hrs of work experience in one-to-one counselling and has been a counsellor to many celebrities like Genelia Deshmukh, Kareena Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan. She has worked as a Programme Manager at BPNI Maharashtra office and was the coordinator for ‘Hirkani IYCN Initiative’ for 6 Districts with Govt. of Maharashtra.
Dr. Shinde has contributed as a special editorial assistance in preparing 2nd edition of Level 1 IYCN English Module for UNICEF Maharashtra and has participated in live IYCN TV and Radio programmes as an expert.
