Dr.  Bhupendra Gandhi is a Mentor and Consultant in Nephrology department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr. Bhupendra Gandhi is a renowned Nephrologist in the city of Mumbai. He graduated from Grant Medical College, JJ Group of Hospitals, University of Mumbai in 1966. He trained with the American Board of Internal medicine at the Mount Carmen Mercy Hospital and Medical centre, University of Michigan, USA 1968-71. As a fellow of Nephrology at The Mount Carmen Mercy Hospital and Medical centre, University of Michigan, USA he completed his certification under American Board in subspecialty of Nephrology in 1974.

Dr. Gandhi has worked as a consultant nephrologist at many institutions around the globe including Harper Hospital Detroit, USA; Pontiac Hospital and Mount Carmen Mercy Hospital and Medical centre Michigan, USA.

Dr. Bhupendra Gandhi is a pioneer in India in doing first kidney transplantation across blood group barrier (what is commonly known nowadays as ABO Incompatible). He has done close to 100 such transplantations in India. 

He has been awarded many awards during his tenure as a Nephrologist. Just to mention a few awards, they are Dr. M D Motashaw Memorial Oration, R T Jain Oration, Guru Dronacharya Awards and Life time achievement Awards. 

Dr. Gandhi has held several prestigious positions such as President - Mumbai Nephrology group, Managing Trustee - Amar Gandhi Foundation and Chairman - Hester Pharmaceuticals. He has presented many articles and written chapters on blood diseases too. 

He is a life member of various association such as American college of Physicians, Indian Medical Association, Indian Society of Organ Transplantation and Indian Society of Nephrologist.
