Dr Shashikala Shivaprakash is a Consultant in the department of Laboratory Medicine at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
After completing her MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, she pursued MD in Microbiology from Bangalore Medical College. Her areas of specialization include Laboratory Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases, and Infection Control.
Dr Shashikala has a rich experience in Clinical Microbiology. Prior to her association with our hospital, she was associated with Seven Hills Hospital Mumbai, where she was instrumental in the designing and setting up of an advanced Microbiology laboratory. She has also served as an Associate Professor in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin
Dr Shashikala is a member of various professional associations such as Indian Association of Medical Microbiology, Association of Clinical Microbiologists, Society for Indian Human & Animal Mycologist, and Hospital Infection Society, Mumbai forum, Society of Clinical Microbiology. She is credited with several publications and is a reviewer for various national and international journals
