Infectious Diseases

Dr. Om Shrivastav is a Consultant in Infectious diseases and Immunology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

He has completed his training in M.D. (Medicine) from India. He then commenced his training in Sydney, Australia where he trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital & Royal North Shore Hospital.

He was the Principal Investigator, RALTEGRAVIR - newest group of drug in treatment of HIV, approved for use in 2010. Jaslok Hospital Mumbai was selected for trial and was concluded successfully after five years.

He is a Post graduate teacher for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS) in HIV.

In collaboration with Harvard Medical School, he was faculty in training doctors in clinical aspects of HIV over a period of three years at Wockhardt Harvard AIDS Research Foundation (WHARF)

INFECON, International conference in Infectious Diseases and HIV conducted in March 2011 in Mumbai was conducted under his supervision and in his capacity as Chairperson, INFECON.

Dr. Shrivastav was the Chairperson for the INFECON held again in 2013 in Mumbai.

He is the author of “AMOEBIASIS - Handbook of Gastroenterology”, published by McGraw Hill. 2011 and a Co-author of “Infections in Immunocompromised patients - ICU protocol Book”.

He has also written a thesis on “Organophosphorous poisoning with estimation of cholinesterase activity as a prognostic indicator for clinical prediction of outcome”.

He was the Member, invitee and speaker at the International Council for Excellence in Malaria Research (ICEMR) in New York – June 2012 and in Goa – September 2012.

He is a Member of the Maharashtra State Malaria Death review committee and Member, Maharashtra State committee on Prevention of Communicable Diseases.

He travels both internationally and across the country as an invited speaker at multiple platforms and forums.

• Inventor of Peptide based salivary based diagnostic assay in Covid. Product registered in conjunction with I.I.T. Mumbai
• Principle editor on book of Multiple Choice Questions in Infectious Diseases. The only book of its' kind in India as of February 2022 
• Awarded Recognition as Covid warrior by his Excellency Governor of Maharashtra.
• Nominated as top 100 doctors in India in fighting Covid by Forbes India 
• Postgraduate teacher in Infectious Diseases at Dr. D.Y.Patil deemed university Navi Mumbai
