Dr. Talha Meeran is a consultant Cardiologist in the department of Advanced Cardiac Sciences and Heart Transplant at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. Talha Meeran completed his MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai University in 2009. He completed his MD (Internal Medicine) at the reputed John Hopkins University under the Sinai Hospital Programme, Baltimore, Maryland, USA in 2014. He then completed his General Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship, Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant Cardiology, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Mechanical Circulatory support at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, USA, 2014-18. He also served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow for the year 2016-17 at the Allegheny General Hospital.
Dr. Meeran specializes in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant with vast experience in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PH). He is the only USA board-certified cardiologist in India with advanced certification in managing post-cardiac transplant patients and patients with artificial heart pumps (LVAD). He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases such as advanced heart failure, PH, rare forms of cardiomyopathy (eg: cardiac amyloidosis, sarcoidosis and ARVC), coronary artery disease and heart rhythm disorders. He is skilled at performing cardiac procedures such as coronary angiogram, right heart catheterization (with vasoreactivity testing) and cardiac biopsy. The American Society of Echocardiography has conferred on him the highest level of certification (Level III) for performing and interpreting echocardiograms.
He is currently an executive committee member of the Society for Heart Failure and Transplant (SfHFT), India and holds licence to practice Internal medicine and Cardiovascular diseases both in India and United States. He also serves as the co-chair of the heart-lung transplant sub-committee of the Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC), Mumbai. He was honoured with the “Profiles in Excellence Award” at the Maryland American College of Physicians, Maryland, US in 2014. He has co-authored 8 research papers and 11 conference publications.
