Dr Prasanna Patankar is a Consultant with the Neurosurgery department at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

After completing his MS, Dr. Prasanna Patankar pursued his DNB in Neuro-surgery from Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Mumbai. He further went on to finish Fellowships in Microvascular and Functional Neurosurgery from Japan and Germany. Thereafter, he was appointed as Asstt. Professor in Neurosurgery in Lokmanya Tilak Hospital, Mumbai. He is also attached as Honorary Consultant in other reputed hospitals of Mumbai.

He has acquired clinical skills in Burr holes, Craniotomies, insertion of external ventricular drain, excision of deep sited gliomas, meningiomas, tuberculomas, hematomas, posterior fossa craniotomies, emergency decompressive craniotomies, depressed fractures, EDH, SDH, Contusions, Spinal instrumentation, CV junction, decompression of spinal cord, anterior cervical discectomy, lumbar discectomy, management of SAH and Vasospasm.

Dr. Patankar regularly conducts teaching programs in neurosurgery, preoperative, intraoperative & postoperative management as well as conducts seminars, journal readings and case presentations. He also has published several research papers in his area of expertise and is invited for conferences, both nationally and internationally.
