Dr Raman Deshpande is a consultant in the department of Surgical Oncology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.
After completing his MBBS from Karnataka Medical College, Dr Raman Deshpande completed his MS from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has earned higher qualifications such as F.I.C.S, D.H.A and F.A.I.S as well.
Dr Deshpande has an experience of over 30 years in the field of Surgical Oncology. Prior to his association with our hospital, Dr Deshpande has worked at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai as Chief of Thoracic & Paediatric Surgical Service. He is regarded as the pioneer of thoracoscopic surgery at Tata Memorial Hospital. He has also worked at Kidwai Institute of Oncology, Bangalore as an Assistant Professor in Surgical Oncology and established the Department of Thoracic Oncology there.
Dr Deshpande is the recipient of many awards and recognitions for his contributions to the medical field. In 2014, he was honoured with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of Government of India. Dr Deshpande also has several publications in various national and international journals.
